The Swedish Student Housing Foundation (Svenska Studentbostadsföreningen - SBF) is a voluntary non-profit organization.
Mission
The purpose of the organization is to protect and promote the interests of the members in business specific questions. SBF represents its members as a group towards governmental, municipal and other public institutions, constantly monitoring Swedish Parliament and Government and their proposals or decisions on subjects regarding student housing.
SBF cooperates with organizations and companies as well as domestic as international. It is of importance for the organization to promote an open and efficient interchange of experiences between its members and their co-workers. SBF is also mediating information to and between the members.
Services offered to the students
SBF is running a national portal to help the students in finding companies i.e. member organizations, offering student accommodation. Student accommodations are offered by local companies. In some cities the housing companies promise new students accommodation within a month from the start of the academic year.
