Student Affairs and services operate in a global higher education context that is influenced by geo-political tensions, growing social disparities, and divergent viewpoints on the values, purpose and operations of student services in higher education.

Students in Europe are confronted with considerable difficulties in accessing affordable housing, financial aid, and social, cultural and (mental) health services.

In this situation, we want to set sail towards new horizons:

• How can we make student services thrive so that students can focus on their academic and social aspirations?
• How can we alleviate the student housing crisis, and meet the challenges in mental health and well-being?
• How can we strengthen the very European notion of public responsibility and purpose of student services in higher education?
